Guidelines for effective participation in conferences

The effective participation of a country in international conferences depends largely on how skilful and prepared its negotiators are. Climate change has become a hot diplomatic battlefield lately and having a well prepared and skilful mass of negotiators is becoming increasingly critical.

In this regard, draft guidelines to train climate change negotiators were drafted and used in 2009 in preparation for the Copenhagen Conference. These guidelines were piloted at one of three training workshops and proved useful to negotiators. However, these guidelines require further work and to be enriched before they can be printed for public work.

Work on this component has may be undertaken in the latter part of 2010.
