Profile on data sources for analytical works

In order to respond to the challenge of climate change in an effective manner and ensure scarce resources are used in a prudent manner, detailed research is required to guide decision making. At the moment, limited climate change research and capacity hampers decision makers’ ability to make informed policy decisions.

In order to address to bridge this information gap, a study will be undertaken to identify the information gaps and recommend specific analytical works to be undertaken. The bids for this exercise have been received and a consultant will soon be engaged to undertake the exercise.

Even before the gaps are identified, one urgent and outstanding research which will assess the costs of climate change impacts to selected sectors of the economy had already been advertised. This study is expected to put an economic cost to the adverse impacts of climate change and also project this cost to the year 2030 in line with the Country’s Vision 2030.
